About Passwords and Meter Functions
Passwords can be set up on the machine to prevent unauthorized access to the machine and/or to a specific account.
- The Lock Code is a 4-digit password that prevents unauthorized access to your system after the machine has been powered up and/or has entered sleep mode.
Refer to Setting or Disabling the Lock Code.
- A Supervisor Password can be used to prevent unauthorized account changes within the accounting feature. If you establish a Supervisor Password, a user will need to enter this password to add, edit, or delete accounts and to clear account totals. For information on setting up a Supervisor Password, refer to Setting or Disabling the Supervisor Password.
- An Account Password can be used to prohibit postage being applied against that account. For information on setting up a password for an account, refer to Turning On the Account Passwords Feature.
